About Us
| The South Ulster Concert Band |

|
Since its formation in 1970, the South Ulster Concert Band
has provided an outlet for musicians of all ages and backgrounds, to play together at weekly rehearsals and perform
regular public concerts.
The band continues to be run under the auspices of the Southern Education and Library Board and currently
has 52 members who play a variety of woodwind, brass or percussion instruments.
In its competing days, the SUCB won the
Northern Ireland Bands Association Championship and held the coveted title of All Ireland Champions for three consecutive
years.
Our musical
programme is varied and ranges from classical arrangements and military marches to excerpts from popular musical
shows/film themes and rock/pop or jazz themes.

Notable concerts have included playing with
members of the Ulster Orchestra and James Galway. Performances at the official
presidential residence for the Irish Presidents Mary Robinson and Mary McAleese have also been highlights, and distinguished
guests at our annual concert have included the First Minister and the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland.
We recognise our
role in assisting the local community and through performances at charity events, over
£6000 has been raised for good causes in the last year alone.
